I’ve recently really noticed AI and Machine Learning are becoming a lot more accessible to the average person in the last year or so and I wanted to throw a quick post together to share some information with my friends, family, business associates and whoever else may read this blog. I think it’s important for all of us to understand what AI and machine learning are and how companies are putting them to use. It’s a very quickly emerging technology, and I believe it’s going to become more and more prevalent in our daily interactions as the technology improves and is applied to new products and services.
The more we understand about it, the more we can prepare for the disruption it will eventually cause to almost every industry. It will be harder and harder for business owners not to switch to automated solutions as these technologies begin to show better productivity and cost-efficiency than is possible from a human workforce. Now I was going to try and explain all of this myself but discovered a great video by the folks over at HubSpot. Do yourself a favour and watch it! It’s the best summary of what it is, and what it could become that I could find out there at the moment.
On a personal note, I’ve been trying to learn about chatbots and AI with the purpose of applying it to my life and how I could use it to benefit my clients and have been thinking a lot about the possibilities that could happen in the near future.
On the one hand, I am scared about the possible disruption to the status quo and how many of our current jobs and tasks we will soon be able to be automated using this technology. On the other, it’s also so exciting to think about how we can use it to analyse and interpret large sets of data and to use it to automate repetitive tasks to allow us to explore more creative approaches to both our businesses and personal lives.
